Kami will be rolling out a beta of Translations tools designed to enhance the classroom experience for English Language Learners, Special Education students, and all learners. The tools will sit in the Kami Toolbar alongside the Dictionary Tool in a new section labelled ‘Understand’. Tools include:

• Translate Selection & Area Tool: This tool enables seamless translation of text, empowering multilingual classrooms and supporting accessibility for all students.
• Additional tools are in development and will be added as they become available.

Please note that these are Beta features, currently in an early access phase. While designed to enhance the classroom experience, they may still have some limitations or produce occasional unexpected results.

These tools offer supports for all classrooms:

• Enhanced Accessibility: Break down language barriers for ELL students with instant translations in over 100 languages.
• Improved Comprehension: Support SPED students with features designed to simplify and explain complex concepts.
• Universal Benefits: Equip all students with tools to personalize their learning experience, fostering greater independence and confidence.

Teacher Controls: We understand that not every tool is suitable for every classroom. The new Translation tools are fully feature-controllable, allowing teachers to enable or disable specific tools to suit their students’ needs and classroom goals.

Underlying Technology: Our Translate tools use an AI service similar to Google Translate. There is no access to a ‘Chat bot’ nor is any private Teacher or Student information requested or retained by the AI service.
