Staff End of Year Tech Directions

Last modified by Christine Sklareski on 2025/05/30 13:42

Below you will find end-of-the-year instructions for staff, para and student computers, computer labs, laptop carts, classroom computers (laptops and desktops), and iPads. We have done our best to account for the variety of individual needs across our district buildings. If something is not included in these instructions or additional information is needed, please don’t hesitate to contact Technology Services at extension 11199.

Classroom Technology items

Please place all adapters, remotes, Newline and Smart pens, document cameras, etc. in a top drawer of your desk where they can easily be found next school year.

Secure all cords up off of the floor so they do not get damaged during summer cleaning. Place external monitors to the back of a stationary countertop so they are safe from bumps and possible damage.

If you are changing rooms or buildings, please leave ALL technology items for the next teacher to use. You will find what you need in your new classroom.

All District Staff Mac Laptop Computers

Just a friendly reminder: All staff are responsible for their district-issued technology. Staff laptop computers taken home during the summer months are subject to the district Acceptable Use Policy 815 and are to be used for educational purposes only, just as they are when taken home during the school year. This includes responsibility for damage due to negligence. Any questions during the summer concerning district technology should be directed to Technology Services at ext. 11199.

All District Staff/Para Chromebooks and Classroom Chromebooks

If you have any Chromebooks issued for classroom or non-student use (issued for para use), turn in to the building office or tech office if your building has one. Complete Chromebook kits (Chromebook, carry case and the 2-part power cord) must be turned in on your school/last work day.

HS Computer Labs / MacBook Cart

  • Please leave the computers in the lab plugged in and powered on. We will be working on them right after students leave for the summer.

  • Power off all Mac laptops and plug in to the cart. Return cart to HSMS IMC Tech Office.

  • Please ensure all computers are accounted for and that there are technology support tickets opened for any computers with issues. Please do not attach notes to the device and assume that the issue will be resolved.

All District iPads

  • Please verify that all iPads are accounted for. If you are missing any iPads, please call extension 11199 so that we can assist with locating them.

  • Please ensure that all iPads are accounted for and that there are technology support tickets opened for any iPads with issues. Please do not attach notes to the device and assume that the issue will be resolved.

  • Individual Classroom iPads (all buildings), turn in to:
    • HSMS: To IMC Tech Office
    • BC: To BC Tech Office
    • Primary: Building office

  • iPad Carts (Elementary buildings): Return iPads to the cart and plug in. Return carts to the office and plug in to power.

  • Grade 1: Complete Chromebook packages should be collected and stored in a location determined by the primary building principal.

  • All students in grades 2 through 11: Chromebooks will be taken home over the summer months. It is the district's expectation that students will care for the device and keep it properly charged in preparation for the start of school again in the fall.
  • Grade 4: Chromebooks will be collected on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 with Homeroom classes
    • Turn in Location: Main hallway outside of the Library
  • Grade 8:  Chromebooks will be collected on Monday, May 19, 2025 during Science classes
    • Turn in Location: MS Bus Lobby
  • Grade 12/Seniors: Will be collected on the following dates:
    • After finals in the Tech Office located in the IMC
    • Monday, June 02, 2025 during cap and gown pick up in the High School Auditorium

Technology Support

Encourage students who may be experiencing Chromebook issues to seek help now through IncidentIQ. Every student has an account and can log in with their district login credentials. Access to support through Technology Services will be limited over the summer. Parents and teachers may submit tickets for student Chromebook support also.
